*Disclaimer: as my guild only raids normal-mode 10/25 mans, this will be a list of gear obtainable for noobs like me who don’t have access to the uber mode stuff. As much as I would like to have shiny green HEROIC! text on my gears, I’m also soul-crushingly realistic.

This is an attempt to gather together a grab-bag list of mutilate upgrades for Avvy as of 3.3, following the mutilate stat hierarchy of AP, haste, and also hit and expertise. A star (*) indicates the highest-rated item (non-Heroic) for mutilate.
A note on Tier 10: EJ posters recommend grabbing the gloves and shoulders first, the offset chest or helm, and then the pants. The T10 helm and chest aren’t itemized the best for mutilate (ew, ArP!) and so would be your last upgrades unless you really want the 4 piece bonus asap and/or have no other options.

Nice post… A few things:
CHEST:
Sanctified Shadowblade Breastplate is available once you have the Token too. However, I’ve already picked up the Ikfirus’ Sack of Wonder so will be forgetting about this piece for the time-being.
HEAD:
If you do go for the Ikfirus’ Sack of Wonder chest-piece (which I would definitely advise for Mutilate)then you want the Sanctified Shadowblade Helmet head-piece for the 4-set bonus instead of the Geistlord’s Punishment Sack here.
Of course, you could go the other way and pick up the Sanctified Shadowblade Breastplate if you get the Geistlord’s Punishment Sack head-piece drop.
SHOULDERS:
Again, considering the set bonus I will be going for the Sanctified Shadowblade Pauldrons here. I have picked up the Cultist’s Bloodsoaked Spaulders already since there were no other rogues in my group at the time. For me this will be one of the last pieces I go for since the upgrade between them is not as high as upgrading some of my other pieces.
WEAPONS:
Again, I was fortunate enough to pick up the Heartpierce dagger already too (being the only mutilate rogue in guild!) which has reaplced my Gouge of the Frigid Heart (Horde version of Twin Spike).
So in short, I am getting most of the pieces you’ve mentioned. However, I want that 2-set and 4-set bonus so my shopping list for Head, Hands, Shoulder and Legs are the Showdowseeker pieces which I’ll upgrade to the Sanctified Shadowblade pieces as and when I manage to pick up the tokens.
At the moment I’m sitting on 79 Emblems of Frost so I’m not far off getting the Helmet.

Yeah, the problem with full T10 is that the head and chest pieces aren’t really itemized for mutilate… they waste stat budget on crap like ArP. From what I’ve been reading (see here for an example: http://elitistjerks.com/f78/t37112-wotlk_rogue_gear_discussion/p50/#post1508866) the best course for mutilate is to get the 2-piece bonus from the shoulders and gloves, and get the offset chest and/or helm. The pants aren’t a bad choice either (and I will probably get them as I still have crappy ilevel 226 pants). So getting the full 4-piece bonus would probably be the last step for me, and yeah I would probably choose the offset chestpiece as it looks pretty awesome.
Now I just have to somehow convince the RNG to drop it for me…
